The commencement of the period for the exercise of public rights for the statement of accounts for the year ending 31 March 2023, set out in regulation 9(1)(b) of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 (the Regulations) has been delayed.  This is due to delays in the receipt of pension valuation information for the LGPS (Local Government Pension Scheme) for both financial years end 31 March 2022 and 31 March 2023. This has had a consequential impact on finalising the accounts for the year ended 31March 2022 and the preparation of the accounts for the year ended 31 March 2023.

This situation is covered by regulation 15(1A) of the Regulations and commencement of the period for the exercise of public rights under regulation 9(1)(b) will take place as soon as reasonably practicable.
