A big thank you from Big Jeff

Last week, Bristol legend and Artist Big Jeff made a visit to staff at Temple fire station to pass on his sincere thanks to the crews for saving his life during a flat fire which left him hospitalised with severe burns.

Jeff became seriously injured following a fire which happened at his flat when the bottom of his shirt caught alight on a gas hob which resulted in a flash fire as the flames quickly spread on his clothing.

Crews from Temple and Hicks Gate were amongst those first on the scene with Crew Manager Sarah Hopper helping to swiftly locate Jeff inside his flat, helping to treat his injuries whilst waiting for an ambulance to attend.

Jeff was then taken to Morriston Hospital, Swansea where he remained in a coma for weeks and spent over six months in hospital at Southmead whilst receiving treatment for his injuries - which included learning to walk.

It was brilliant to see Jeff has made an impressive recovery, we wish him all the best on his recovery journey!
