Milton Brow, Worle, Weston-super-Mare
Three pumps from Weston-super-Mare were called to a fire in a
ground floor flat.
When crews arrived they found the property well alight and it
was clear the fire had been going for some time.
Six crews in breathing apparatus entered the property using two
high pressure hose reels to put out the fire.
The property was badly damaged by by fire, smoke and water and
the owner's cat sadly died.
It is thought the fire was started by smoking materials.
Avon Fire & Rescue Service would like to remind everyone
about the dangers of smoking in the home.
We would encourage smokers to ensure their cigarettes are
properly extiniguished as they can lead to severe
fires.
