Man rescued from flat fire

Wednesday 1 October

21.53 Greenbank Avenue East, Easton, Bristol

A 60-year-old man has been rescued by firefighters after a blaze at his home.

On arrival at the property crews found a fire in an internal corridor of the property and the man, who lived there was suffering from slight smoke inhalation. He was conscious and breathing, but crews assisted him out of the property.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire with a high pressure hose reel.

It appears the fire was started accidentally in rubbish inside the flat.
