Fire appliances: Two 1800 Litre Water Tenders, one Breathing Apparatus service vehicle, one 100 Litre Midi Tender, one Line Rescue Unit, one Turntable Ladder and one Rescue Tender. You can find out more about the appliances at Temple below.

Equipped to serve

There are currently two pumping appliances at Temple Fire Station. One carries a 13.5 metre ladder and the other a 10 metre ladder. Both are equipped with twin hosereels, first attack hydraulic cutting gear, a selection of larger hose, environmental response packs, and four breathing apparatus sets. The station is also equipped with oxygen resuscitators, two defibrillators and two thermal imaging cameras

The station also houses a Metz Turntable Ladder that has a working height of 30 metres. This appliance has a cage permanently fitted to the top of the ladder and is used to gain access to, rescue people from and apply water to tall buildings.

Temple Fire Station is equipped with a Rescue Tender. This appliance carries a large range of specialist rescue equipment which includes hydraulic cutting equipment, heavy lifting airbags, winching and lighting equipment.

Temple Fire Station provides all the members of the Avon Fire & Rescue Service Rope Rescue Team. The specialist equipment they use (mainly ropes, slings, stretchers, harnesses and connectors) is carried on the specialist Rope Rescue Vehicle that is housed at the station.

The final appliance at the station is the Breathing Apparatus Support Vehicle. This carries 16 breathing apparatus sets, 36 cylinders and equipment to service breathing apparatus sets after they have been used at an incident. The vehicle is sent to incidents where large numbers of breathing apparatus sets are being used.

Temple Fire Station helps protect the communities within the wards of Ashley, Cabot, Clifton, Clifton East, Cotham, Lawrence Hill and Redland.

The area includes multi-storey office buildings, multi-storey residential buildings, Bristol Royal Infirmary, Bristol University, Bristol Hippodrome, The Colston Hall and Temple Meads railway station. The city centre also includes the popular dockside area of bars, restaurants and nightclubs.

All our 23 fire stations are available for events or station visits. The hours we like to keep within are; morning visits 11:00am - 12 noon, afternoon visits 2pm - 3pm or after 6pm.
