Previously operating as a day crewing station, Yate fire station became AF&RS's 11th Wholetime shift station when it was upgraded on 1 January 2009.

The station now operates a four watch system with wholetime firefighters on duty at the station 24 hours a day seven days a week. In addition the station is also covered by firefighters on the Retained Duty System who attend emergency incidents and carry out community fire safety activities, in support of their wholetime colleagues.

Fire appliances: Two 1800 Litre Water Tenders and one Command Support Unit.
Other information: The station includes the South Gloucestershire Fire Safety Office and a Community Safety Centre.

Would you like to visit Yate Fire Station?

All our 23 fire stations are available for events and station visits. The hours we like to keep within are; morning visits 11:00am - 12 noon, afternoon visits 2pm - 3pm or after 6pm.

For station visits, we do have a restriction on numbers of about 20 per visit, so please give us a call if you have any queries on 0117 9262061 extension 477/478, or fill in the online station visit request form. Please specify which station you would like to visit.
