Previously operating as a day crewing station, Yate fire station
became AF&RS's 11th Wholetime shift station when it was
upgraded on 1 January 2009.
The station now operates a four watch system with wholetime
firefighters on duty at the station 24 hours a day seven days a
week. In addition the station is also covered by firefighters
on the Retained Duty System who attend emergency incidents and
carry out community fire safety activities, in support of their
wholetime colleagues.

kilometres of mainly rural area, about 10% of which
is built-up, including the Murco Petroleum Railhead Terminal.

station includes the South Gloucestershire Fire Safety
Office and a Community Safety
Centre.

Community Safety Centre
Yate Fire Station has a Community Safety Centre. Here you can
find free internet access, free meeting facilities for community
groups and much more.
Yate's Community Safety Centre can be found next to the
main entrance at the front of the station. The works were
completed in 2004 and satisfy recommendations of the
Disability Discrimination Act.

Would you like to visit Yate Fire Station?
All our 23 fire stations are available for events and station
visits. The hours we like to keep within are; morning visits
11:00am - 12 noon, afternoon visits 2pm - 3pm or after 6pm.
For station visits, we do have a restriction on numbers
of about 20 per visit, so please give us a call if you have
