Working in partnership
Avon Fire & Rescue Service works closely with local partners
to reduce risks within the community.
We have a strong working relationship with Oldbury Power
Station's Health and Safety Management Team, with who we hold
regular meetings to discuss safety issues.
Staff from our stations within South Gloucestershire attend
the Oldbury site on a regular basis to ensure it is prepared in
case of an operational incident. We also participate in formal
annual exercises, our involvement in which has been commended as an
example of Best Practice by the Nuclear Industries
Inspectorate.
We are represented at all levels within Safer South
Gloucestershire Community Safety Teams. We are currently
engaged in strenuous efforts to reduce death and injury resulting
from road traffic collisions in our area.
