Fire crews rode to the rescue of young horse which found itself
trapped in a ditch near to its stables.
A fire engine and rescue tender were called out from
Weston-super-Mare after Whisper the horse took an early
morning tumble into a ditch. As the banks were too high for
Whisper to climb out without help fire crews were called in.
Part of the undergrowth was cut away before
firefighters placed straps underneath the stricken animal. A
crane was then used to lift Whisper to the safety of
waiting owners. After a quick carrot Whisper was none the
worse for the ordeal.
