Members of Bath’s Swift Water Rescue Team were deployed during the
early hours of Friday morning to the aid of a man who had fallen
into a canal.
The gentleman,
believed to be in his 60s, had been walking home when he slipped
into the water and had been there for some time before a passerby
spotted him and raised the alarm. Trapped in the water up to his
waist, the man had suffered abrasions to his legs from his repeated
attempts to climb out of the canal.
Swift rescue water
operatives rescued the man from the water and wrapped him in warm
clothing and blankets. He was then passed to the care of a waiting
ambulance and taken to hospital.
