Six rescued from fire

19 June 2006 - 20.21 - Marson Road, Clevedon

A mother and her five children were trapped in a first floor bedroom by a fire which started in the hallway.

Passers by managed to use a neighbours ladder to rescue four of the children before firefighters arrived. The crews then took over to rescue the last child and the mother while firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze with a hose real. Luckily the family were not hurt but the building was badly damaged and they had to be re-housed.
