Friday 15 July
16.45 Queensholm Drive, Downend
A family of
nine needed to be rehoused after fire in their garden shed
spread to the house.
When crews arrived at the property they found a well developed
fire.
Ten firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire
using two 45mm jets and two high pressure hose reels. A thermal
imaging camera was used to check for hotspots and a positive
pressure ventilation fan used to ventilate the house.
Fortunately no one was hurt but two border collies were rescued
by firefighters, although one had to be resuscitated.
It’s thought the fire started
accidentally.
