Seven people have been taken to hospital after a road traffic
collision involving two cars.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they found nine people
involved, although two were unharmed.
Four people had originally been in a Mini, but two had managed
to get out, leaving two others, a man and a woman in their 20s,
trapped.
As the doors to the vehicle were damaged, firefighters used
hydraulic spreading equipment to open them. Working alongside
paramedics the man was then assisted on to a spinal board and taken
to hospital suffering from suspected head injuries.
The female was also assisted from the vehicle and was suffering
from shock.
A family of five, who were in a Renault Clio, were all out when
firefighters arrived and they were taken to hospital for a
precautionary check up. In total seven people were taken to
hospital.
