The Lord Mayor of Bristol, Councillor Royston Griffey, was given an opportunity to view some of Avon Fire & Rescue Service’s (AF&RS) latest life-saving equipment during a tour of Temple Fire Station last week.

On display during the visit were the Environmental Response Unit, Rescue Boat, Command Unit, Rescue Tender, Urban Search and Rescue equipment and Rope Rescue appliance.

The Lord Mayor was treated to a chip pan demonstration highlighting the dangers of pouring water on a chip pan fire and later given a bird’s eye view of the fire station when he was taken up on the hydraulic platform.
