Students are being offered a chance to build on their computer
games design skills and win £200 by producing a computer game for
an innovative website.
FireTV is looking for entrants to design and build either an
educational game that ties in with the theme of fire safety or a
fun game that contains a link to fire service activities.
The website, which was launched in May last year, already
features several games which have proved popular with users. Now
the owners of the site, Avon Fire & Rescue Service, is looking
to expand this area.
Sophie Laurence, AF&RS Social Marketing Manager, said; “The
winning game will net its maker a prize of £200, but if you don’t
win and we choose to use your game on our site, we’ll give you
£50.
“The aim of FireTV is to take the fire safety message to new
audiences and we believe the site will become crucial in educating
people in a range of safety advice. The Play area of the site,
where your game will feature, aims to relay safety messages in an
easy to understand way.”
*Entries should be received no later than Friday 18 April and
the winner and short-listed games will be announced on the FireTV
website on Wednesday 30 April. The winning game along with the
short-listed games will appear on FireTV for at least three
months.
