Chew Magna Fire
Station will become home to local police and council officers after
the agencies signed a partnership agreement.
The new agreement
between the three organisations will see local beat officers from
Avon and Somerset Constabulary and staff from Bath & North East
Somerset (B&NES) Council based at the fire station on Tunbridge
Road.
The aim of the new
partnership is to allow public service workers from the police and
council to be closer to the communities they serve.
Chew Magna Station
Manager for Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS), Rob Davis
said the partnership has addition benefits for the fire and rescue
service.
He said: “We
already have good links with the police and council and I’m really
pleased we are able to continue this work at Chew Magna.
“Ultimately we
share the same aim – of keeping the community of Chew Magna safe
and sharing our facilities will enable us to do this more
effectively.”
