South Bristol residents are being given an opportunity to gain
vital fire safety advice while they enjoy afternoon tea courtesy of
Avon Fire & Rescue Service on Tuesday 14 August.
Firefighters
from Bedminster Blue Watch will be on hand to answer queries about
cutting the risk of fire in the home during the event at Withywood
Community Centre on Queen’s Road from 2pm to 4pm.
Those attending
will also have a chance to book a Home Fire Safety Visit where Avon
Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) will fit smoke alarms for
free.
And, as part of
the event, the first 50 people to bring along their old chip pans
will be able to trade them in for a brand new deep fat fryer!
Representatives
from Age Concern and Avon & Somerset Constabulary will
also be attending the event.
*If you are unable
to attend, but would like to book a free Home Fire Safety Visit,
contact AF&RS on 0800 1693 999.
