Avon Fire & Rescue Service
firefighters are putting on a special pantomime for local school
children.
Members of Green Watch at
Avonmouth Fire Station have been involved in the planning, writing
and production of Hansel and Gretel, which will be performed on
Monday 17 December.
Members of Green Watch will
also be acting in the production and have invited children from
four primary schools in the Avonmouth area to
watch.
As well as all the usual fun
and laughter of a traditional pantomime, the firefighters’
production will also include some important fire safety messages
for the children.
The show will be performed
again on Sunday 23 December for the firefighters’
families.
Watch Manager Ashley Wright,
who is directing this year’s production, said: “Our pantomimes are
becoming a regular event on the calendar now and we hope this
year’s production will be just as popular as those in previous
years.
“As well as having fun and
entertaining the local children, we feel the pantomime is a great
way to get across important fire safety
messages.”
