Scoffing samosas and nibbling naan bread – that’s what members
of the public will be doing to help Avon Fire & Rescue Service
raise money for charity.
Temple Fire Station is hosting an afternoon of Indian cuisine on
Sunday 24 June.
Bristol-based restaurant Tiffins, on St Michael’s Hill, came up
with the idea and will be cooking all the food for the event, which
will start at 12.30pm.
All the money raised with be donated to two charities. Gambia
and Avon Fire Services in Partnership (GAFSIP) and Frenchay After
Burns Club (FAB).
Avon Fire & Rescue Service will also be using the event to
recruit people to become ‘champions’ of the community and help
spread the word about free Home Fire Safety Visits. Anyone in
the Avon area can book this free service where firefighters visit
homes offering fire safety advice and fitting free smoke alarms. To
request a free Home Fire Safety Visit call 0800 1693 999.
Tickets for the charity meal cost £10 each and can be bought at
Tiffins, or on the door on the day, although places are
limited.
