Friday 4 December
14.00 hrs
Firefighters from Avonmouth will be following the yellow brick
road as part of efforts to educate young people about the dangers
of fire.
On Friday 4 December crews from Green Watch will take to the
stage at Avonmouth Fire Station to perform their very own version
of The Wizard of Oz.
Children from Avonmouth Primary School have been invited to
watch the performance and enjoy a visit to the fire station.
As well as all the usual fun and laughter of a traditional
pantomime, the firefighters’ production will include some important
fire safety messages for the children.
Avonmouth Station Manager Derrick Hone said: “This is a great
way for us to engage with local children and to get some fire
safety messages out to the community. As well as watching the
pantomime the children will be given the chance to look around the
fire station and find out about life as a firefighter.
“The Avonmouth Fire Station pantomime is a regular event on our
calendar and is bound to be great fun for the children
watching.”
