Man suffers burns in fire

Monday 29 September

18.55 Kingsley Road, Radstock

A 30-year-old man has been treated for minor burns to his arm and smoke inhalation, after a fire at his home in Radstock.

On arrival crews found a fire in the kitchen of the property. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using two high pressure hose reels and a dry powder extinguisher.

The man’s wife, his two daughters, two dogs and two cats had managed to get out of the property before crews arrived.

As the fire caused quite a lot of smoke, firefighters spent some time ventilating the property.

The fire is thought to have started accidentally at the back of a freezer in the kitchen.
