Man rescued from railway line

Tuesday 4 November
03.51 Bath Spa Railway Station, Dorchester Street, Bath

Crews were called to assist paramedics to gain access to the railway station, which is locked overnight.

On arrival they were able to get access to the platform and found a man in his 20s injured on the railway line. It’s not clear how he came to be there, but he was suffering from foot, shoulder and head injuries.

Firefighters assisted paramedics in placing the man on to a spinal board and he was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Crews then carried out a search of the railway station for a second person, who was reported to be inside, but no one was found.
