02.51 A36, Kennet and Avon Canal
Two pumps and a Land Rover from Bath were called to
a severe fire on a canal boat near to the A36 on the Kennet and
Avon Canal.
On arrival crews found the boat well alight and a man in his 40s
with a badly cut arm. It appears the man had woken to a fire on the
boat and had to climb out through a window to escape, cutting his
arm.
He was treated at the scene and then taken to hospital for a
check-up.
The cause of the fire is thought to be
accidental.
