Man rescued after Chew Stoke collision

Firefighters rescue a man from a carA man has been rescued from his car by firefighters following a road traffic collision.

Crews from Chew Magna and Temple fire stations were called to the incident which involved two vehicles. The two occupants of a Citroen car were able to get out of their vehicle before firefighters arrived, but the driver of VW car was trapped.

Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle. Working alongside paramedics the male, aged in his 20s, was then rescued from the car on a spinal board. The man was then taking to hospital by air ambulance, although his injuries were not believed to be serious.
