One pump from Speedwell and Temple’s two pumps, rescue tender
and rope rescue were called to the aid of a man who had fallen into
a ditch after trying to rescue his dog.
The man had been out walking his dog when the pet took off and
ended up in the ditch, which was covered in brambles and at the
bottom of a steep slope.
The rope rescue team set up two lines to the pair and two rope
rescue operatives went down to ensure neither was seriously
injured. They then walked the duo back up the slope to
safety.
