Monday 27 October
18.40 Stafford Street, Bedminster
Firefighters
managed to prevent a well developed blaze from damaging the
building of a print works after an electrical fault caused fire to
break out in the property.
When they arrived
on the scene crews found smoke pouring out of the single storey
unit.
With the blaze
threatening to spread to the roof, the incident was sectorised.
Firefighting efforts outside the building were concentrated on
preventing the fire from spreading to the roof, while inside, four
firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus (BA) tackled the fire
using dry powder and CO2 extinguishers.
While the fire
caused considerable damage to the electrical cabling, fortunately
the firefighters’ efforts meant that the fire didn’t damage the
structure.
Engineers from
Western Power were also brought in to help with the incident.
While there were
people working in the building at the time of the outbreak of the
fire, no one was injured as a result of the
incident.
