Hydraulic platform called in for injured man

Monday 30 November

20.02 East Street, Bedminster

A 17-year old man had to be carried out of a first floor window by firefighters using the hydraulic platform when he suffered suspected neck and back injuries during a martial arts class.

With the gym on the first floor of the building, ambulance crews found the building’s narrow stairs made it difficult to carry the man out of the building on a spinal board.

Firefighters directed the hydraulic platform to a first floor window and assisted paramedics in lifting the casualty out of the building. He was then taken to hospital.
