Sunday 9 November
23.43 Yanley
Lane, Yanley, Long Ashton
Two pumps and the boat were called to Yanley Lane, for the
second time in two days.
On arrival crews found a Vauxhall Zafira trapped in flood water,
after the local river had burst its banks on to the road.
Two people, a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s, were
sitting on the roof of the vehicle unable to go anywhere because of
the water.
Two firefighters wearing dry suits rode out to the couple using
an inflatable rescue sled and they, their two guitars and a number
of bags were taken to safety.
No one was hurt, but the vehicle was deeply submerged in water
up to its bonnet. There was also another car at the scene, which
may have been in a similar situation, although no one was
inside.
