Firefighters tackle roof fire

Wednesday 15 October
21.27 Kingsdown Parade, Kingsdown

Two pumps and the turntable ladder from Temple Fire Station and two pumps from Bedminster Fire Station were called to a fire in the roof of a printing shop.

On approach to the incident crews could see the flames coming from the roof, which was well alight.

Using two jets and two high pressure hose reels, firefighters tackled the blaze, but were on scene for some time stripping the tiles on the roof to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.

The roof was completely destroyed by the fire with a small amount of fire and water damage to the rest of the premises.

It’s thought there had been some maintenance work being carried out on the property earlier that day, which had sparked the fire. The cause is accidental.

No one was hurt, but the road was closed for some time.
