Monday 11 September 2006 - 09.00hrs
Avon Fire & Rescue Service is holding an event called "Catch
Di Fyre" on Sunday 17 September. It follows last years successful
Catch Di Fyre party, which was the idea of a firefighter from
Temple Fire Station. The event helps build relationships with the
local communities in the east Bristol area.
It's also a day of fun activities and an evening of music
and dance.
Chief Fire Officer/ Chief Executive Kevin Pearson says: "This is
one of a number of activities that we hope will bring us closer to
the local community. We would welcome every from the area to come
along, get to know their fire service and have a great time
too."
Organised by firefighters and Avon Fire & Rescue Service’s
Equality and Diversity Unit, the event is being held so that people
from the local community can meet their firefighters in a fun and
informal environment.
- During the day there will be sports and activities such as
netball, cricket, bouncy castle and a climbing wall at The
Riverside Youth Project, Clement Street, Easton from 12 until
5pm
This is all free including a bar-b-q.
- In the evening the action moves to Rose Green Leisure Centre,
Gordon Road, Whitehall. There will be music from DJs Scrachilus and
General D as well as a hot Caribbean Buffet. Entry is £5 and the
evening runs from 7.30 until Late.
Tickets for the evening event can be purchased from Avon
Fire & Rescue Service HQ at Temple Back in central
Bristol.
