Beggar Bush Lane, Abbots Leigh, Bristol
An electricity
pylon which had been brought down during Friday’s strong winds
sparked a fire which damaged the clubhouse of a rugby club in
Bristol.
The fire started
after the pylon fell on a propane cylinder which was used to supply
a boiler room on the ground floor of the three storey building.
Four firefighters
wearing breathing apparatus (BA), one high pressure hose reel and a
jet were brought in during the course of firefighting operations.
Crews managed to prevent the fire from spreading beyond the boiler
room, but the rest of the building was damaged by
smoke.
