Firefighters have rescued a dog after it fell into a 20 metre
ravine.
When crews arrived on the scene they found the owner of a Great
Dane called Dolly awaiting them. The dog had been missing since the
previous day. It’s thought Dolly had chased a fox and then fallen
into the ravine and come to rest 20 metres down on a ledge.
Firefighters were unable to see the animal so one specially trained
rope rescue operative descended into the ravine and found the
animal on the ledge. He then assisted Dolly into the animal sling
and she was lifted to safety.
Dolly was then reunited with her owner, none the worse for her
ordeal.
