Fire in coal stacking machine

When crews arrived they found a coal stacking machine on fire. This equipment is used to skim the coal from a heap and put it on to a conveyor belt.

Firefighters used two high pressure hose reels and a jet to put the fire out. It caused a substanstial amount of damage to the machinery.

No one was hurt and crews were on the scene for around an hour.

The cause is thought to be accidental.
