08.12 M5 southbound junctions 14 to 15
A woman has been rescued by firefighters after a road traffic
collision on the motorway involving her car and a Heavy Goods
Vehicle (HGV).
When crews arrived on the scene they found the woman in her 30s
trapped in her Honda Civic. Using hydraulic cutting equipment
firefighters removed the roof and driver’s door of the vehicle.
Working alongside paramedics crews then assisted the woman on to
a spinal board and she was taken to hospital suffering from
suspected spinal injuries.
The driver of the HGV was unhurt during the
incident.
