Crews from Weston-super-Mare and Winscombe were called to the
Café Plaza to reports of a fire in the premises.
The fire, which had started in the kitchen area, was
quickly extinguished by six firefighters wearing breathing
apparatus. They used three high pressure hose reels and two Co2
extinguishers to put the fire out.
A thorough search of the flats above the cafe was made and no
one was found to be inside.
A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the
smoke.
