17 - Keep Warm, Keep Safe this winter

Snowflakes If you are thinking of using a portable heater this winter remember they can be dangerous.

Make sure you only use gas or paraffin heaters in well ventilated areas, and place them where they are not likely to get knocked over.

Never leave your heater on when you go out or go to bed.

If there was a fire would you and your family know how to get out? The best way out of your home is the way you regularly come in, but make sure you have other escape routes in case it is blocked. Make sure escape routes are clear of obstacles.
