8 - Never leave candles unattended

Never leave candles unattended

Snowflakes Enjoy using candles safely - never leave them unattended

Candles can add to the festive atmosphere, but keep them away from curtains and other soft furnishings as they could easily cause a fire.

Remember - if you do have a fire the only way to buy vital time to help you and your family escape is by having working smoke alarms.

Did you know that two or three breaths of toxic smoke in a house fire could knock you unconscious? Watch the Fire Kills Toxic Smoke Campaign advert for more information and fit a smoke alarm today.
