Charity challenges

Firefighters do a sponsored run in BA kit It must be something to do with the values of the fire service, but at Avon Fire & Rescue many of our staff are dedicated to raising money for charity. They take part in an wide array of fundraising challenges, ranging from driving a Landrover over 4,000 miles on cooking oil, to cycling, canoeing and running across The Gambia.

New! In September two AF&RS crew members are running the 'Tunnel to Towers' challenge in New York, in full fire kit. The pair will run from The Brooklyn Tunnel to Ground Zero and raise much needed funds for GAFSIP and The Firefighters Charity, find out more about the challenge and how you can help them by following the link above.

Much of the fundraising is for GAFSIP - Gambia and Avon Fire Service in Partnership but there are other charity's close to Avon Fire & Rescue Service's heart, including the The Fire Fighters Charity
