Many of the charity challenges that our staff take part in raise money for GAFSIP.

  • Tunnel to Towers 2009 two of our firefighters ran from Brooklyn Tunnel to the World Trade Centre Memorial Site in full fire kit, raising £2,500 for charity.
  • Don't Panic 2007 where an ambulance was driven down, and donated, to The Gambia.
  • The Ultimate Challenge - Avon Fire & Rescue Service's Deputy Chief Fire Officer cycled, canoed and ran across The Gambia.
  • Landrover Challenge - A firefighter drove a Landrover across Europe on cooking oil!
  • Bristol to Banjul Challenge - Two firefighters drove all the way to Banjul and raised over £2,000 for GAFSIP.

Put it out, right out! Make sure cigarettes are fully extinguished . Never leave lit cigarettes, cigars or pipes unattended. Never smoke in bed - you could doze off and set your bedding on fire.
